How can I prepare for certifications?
Each certification has a resources page with suggested preparation.
How do I register for an exam?
Smartsheet certification exams require you to have an account on Smartsheet University. If you have more than one account, you may only use one account to take an exam. You must use only one email address to register for exams. If you take a certification exam with multiple accounts, we reserve the right to revoke your certification.
How much does it cost to become Smartsheet Certified?
Each attempt at a Smartsheet Certified Associate exam costs $149, and each attempt at a Solution exam costs $199. If you fail an Associate exam once and pass it on your second try, the total cost will be $298. If you fail a Solution exam once and pass it on your second try, the total cost will be $398.
I have a promo code! How many attempts will it cover?
Promo codes cover only 1 attempt. Smartsheet certification promo codes can only be used once per person.
How long do I have to take the exam once I’m registered?
You have 60 days from the date of your registration to take the exam. Additionally, a new edition of the certification exam will be released every year. We will post a notice on the Exam Details page when an exam is close to retirement.
Are the exams proctored?
Exams are virtually proctored. Our proctoring tool allows you to take the exams securely and at any time. You must disable third-party cookie blocking.
What are the system and browser requirements to take an exam?
We recommend that you use Google Chrome or Firefox when taking the exam. If you experience technical difficulties, make sure that you have adjusted the security settings in both your browser and System Preferences (if using Mac OS).
How long does it take to get my exam or assessment results?
Your score will be shown on test completion. If you enter your email on the score page, your score will also be emailed to you. Your score is always available in your profile on Smartsheet University.
Can I retake an exam if I fail?
Yes, you can pay for the exam and take it again.
Why are there unscored questions on the exam?
We collect data on unscored questions to determine their potential for use as scored items on future exams. Unscored questions are not identified, and they will not impact your score.
How long is my certification valid?
Smartsheet certifications issued since the launch of Smartsheet Certified in February 2022 do not expire. We will periodically update the certification program and associated exams, and will announce such changes 6 months in advance so that certified candidates can prepare to take the exam if they wish to update their credential.
I got certified prior to February, 2022. Do I need to take the exam again?
Yes - we updated our certification program in February 2022, and you will need to take the current version of the exam to renew your certification status.
How can I let other people know that I am Smartsheet Certified?
You can share your verifiable Credly badge on LinkedIn, your email signature, and your resume, and you will receive a badge for your Smartsheet Community profile.
What's the difference between getting certified and earning a skills badge?
A skills badge indicates that the earner has completed a training path and passed the associated assessments specific to that path. For example, you can earn the Core App skills badge by successfully taking the Core App learning path and passing the capstone quiz.
Certification indicates proficiency in the skills identified in the test outline, independent of any particular training course or learning path. You become certified by taking the proctored certification exam, which does not require training. We do recommend specific training in the exam details, and we’ve compiled a list of resources to help you prepare.
