About this exam

The System Administrator Certified exam validates that candidates can manage an organization's Smartsheet account settings, security policies, licenses, users, and data policies. Candidates should be able to enforce an organization's policy on the use of Smartsheet, manage the user lifecycle, and speak with authority about how the platform is being used by the organization and how it can be used in the future.

Qualified Candidate Description

Qualified candidates understand the licensed user experience and have a basic understanding of Smartsheet’s account settings and data and security structure. They are familiar with most aspects of Smartsheet license management and the user lifecycle. They know how to run reports of user data and work collaboratively with IT/InfoSec teams to make policy changes, process improvements, and recommend future uses of the platform. Additionally the candidate should have 3-6 months experience as a Smartsheet Administrator.

Exam Details

  • Content: 65 multiple-choice questions, 60 scored and 5 unscored
  • Time to complete the exam: 90 minutes
  • Delivery: Proctored exam and must agree to be recorded per the Smartsheet Certified Candidate Agreement

Exam results

The System Administrator Certified exam is a pass or fail exam. The exam results are reported as an overall score and a breakdown by domain. The exam uses a compensatory scoring model, which means that you do not need to achieve a passing score in each section. You need to pass only the overall exam. An overall score of 66.7 (40/60) is required to pass the exam.

Each section of the exam has a specific weighting, so some sections have more questions than others. The score report contains general information that highlights your strengths and weaknesses. Use caution when interpreting section-level feedback.

Scores specific to questions will not be reported.

Scores will be displayed at the end of the exam, and you can choose to email yourself a copy of your score report. Scores cannot be used to evaluate against other candidates.
